{sweet pepper jam mixed with mayo & balsamic chicken on toasted french bread topped with crisp onion sprouts, ay dios mio santos!}
Oddly, we ate this exact thing for dinner last night too. Unfortunately, it was too late for natural lighting and the pictures ended up looking like mugshots of a criminal crostini element. Instead of compromising the shoot by using a flash bulb, we placed each crostini under arrest, sentenced them to death, and then ate them straight away. Yum!

{the sweet aspect of asiago, fresh corn, and tender capellini make this velvety soup the most delicious I’ve tasted in many moons}
This recipe is from the Chardonnay chapter of a cookbook called The Vintner’s Table that talks about wine pairing. While it was difficult deciding what to try first, I knew this was the soup for me right away with the rich cream, tender noodles, and asiago cheese. The only thing I added to the original recipe was some very persuasive sauteed sweet corn I had just smuggled home from the market, unable to resist their whiles.

We just returned from a trip to Healdsburg, Sonoma where we taste wine, explore, have picnics, taste more wine, play scrabble, eat at fine restaurants, drink more wine, and play more scrabble. Wake up, wash, rinse, repeat. We rented a house that was tucked away in this little bohemian community along the Russian River. Quiet, no cell signal, clean air.

{braised lamb with tomato, wine, garlic, and herbs}
The phone woke me up early this morning, work calling – awkwardness to shock me into awakedness. I took advantage of this early morning conciousness and went to the farmers market for the first time this spring. Shelled sweet peas, so dreamy, jerusalem artichokes, fresh butter, eggs, spring onions, and lush bunches of herbs all conveniently abandoned ship into my shoulder bag whilst I sipped latte, no foam, oblivious.
