The Ghost of Malibu Canyon

The other day, we took a long drive through the canyons around Malibu/Topanga up to ear popping altitudes. There are lots of strange little roads that try to hide from traffic up there that are fun to explore. Stopping along the way, we took pictures at dusk when the colors are most vibrant. When I loaded up the pictures, this little number was staring back giving us all a solid case of the creeps. I lightened it a little but that didn’t clear anything up, see what I mean?

I grew up in L.A. and one time in high school three of my girlfriends and I were cruising around at high altitude on winding roads at night, and it got terribly foggy, so that we had to creep and couldn’t see anything but white anywhere around us. It was kind of — tense. One of the friends suddenly blurted out (you have to imagine a stoner drawl), “All right, we’re in heaven — gimme five!”
Bizzaro…Ghosts are scary!
I love Topanga Canyon – it’s one of my favoritist HAUNTS in California. Hold me – I scared.

Lisa, so true, not suprising at all, its eerie and exhilarting way up there. i love that story, it is like being in heavan. it really gets your mind going up in the canyons around here!!
